Manhunt underway for armed suspect linked to deadly shooting spree in south Georgia

ALBANY, Ga. — Police in southwest Georgia are searching for a man they say is connected to two separate shootings, including one that left a woman dead and several others injured.

According to the Albany Police Department, Braylen Robinson is wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Tuesday in the 1000 block of South Cleveland Street.

Around 10:43 p.m., Albany police were called to Cleveland Street after reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found five people with injuries.

Authorities identified the woman who died as Kiambria Young, 31. Young died at the scene.

The other four victims were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities also linked Robinson to another shooting that happened on Wednesday in south Albany.

Police said a man was shot while riding in a vehicle with a woman and an infant child.

After the shooting, the driver tried to rush the victim to the hospital but crashed at the intersection of Oakridge Drive and Madison Street. Investigators said both vehicles were overturned in the crash.

Police said they were also taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to police, officers later found the vehicle Robinson was allegedly driving and confirmed he was behind the wheel. When officers tried to approach him, investigators said Robinson reversed and sped toward officers before leaving the scene.

Police initiated a chase, but Robinson remains at large. The vehicle was later recovered.

Authorities say Robinson should be considered armed and dangerous.
