DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. — Human remains discovered during the search for a missing 18-year-old have been positively identified as the teenager, and his brother has been arrested on a murder charge, according to police.

Dougherty County police said Wednesday that autopsy findings confirmed the remains belong to Samuel Jackson, who had been reported missing after he was last seen around 8:30 p.m. June 26 in the west Albany area.
Authorities searching for Samuel Jackson discovered human remains in a wooded area on July 6 in an area connected to the investigation.
At the time, authorities could not confirm the identity of the remains. They were submitted for forensic examination and positive identification.

Police now say the remains have been confirmed as the missing teen.
In connection with the investigation, Jackson’s 23-year-old brother, Jamal Jackson, has been arrested and charged with:
- murder
- concealing the death of another
- disposal of a human body
Jamal Jackson remains in custody.
Police said investigators are continuing to question him as they gather more information about the circumstances surrounding Samuel Jackson’s death.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
