MOST WANTED: 'Dangerous' man wanted in connection with teen's death

ATLANTA — Police say the man who they believe killed a 16-year-old girl is one of Atlanta's 10 Most Wanted.

The FBI considers Dwight Lewis, 26, a "major violent offender" in the shooting death of Keosha Tinch.

Tinch was shot and killed in February while sitting in the back of an SUV at an apartment complex on Campbellton Road. Tinch's mother said she hasn't slept since her daughter died.

"I'm tired of sleepless nights. I don't sleep at night," Kenya Tinch said.

Police are searching for Lewis, who is now on their most wanted list.

"It takes a lot to get you on that list, and he is on that list because we want him off the street. We consider him very dangerous," Atlanta police Sgt. Warren Pickard said. "Our bottom line is, we're going to catch him."

The victim's grandmother said she wants justice not just for her granddaughter, but for other people too.

"Cause we could go to bed and we could sleep at night, not worrying about him out there putting that pistol, that same pistol that he used to shoot my granddaughter in the back of her head, to shoot somebody else's baby in the back of their head," Joyce Hampton said.

The victim's family members said the sooner the killer is off the street, the better.

"It doesn't get any easier. It gets harder and the only thing I want is for Dwight Lewis to turn himself in," Kenya Tinch said.

"I promise Dwight, Atlanta Police Department, I will not die until somebody locks him up," Hampton said.

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
