Christine McCarthy, Boston 25 News

Reporter

Born and raised in the Boston area, Christine is thrilled to be back in Massachusetts after reporting away from home for four years. Christine spent two-and-a-half years at KUTV in Salt Lake City, where she covered the 2013 federal court ruling that legalized gay marriage and the controversial prisoner exchange of five Taliban leaders for Idaho soldier Bowe Bergdahl. Before falling in love with beautiful Utah, Christine was a weekend anchor and reporter for KXXV in Waco, Texas. There, Christine reported on the arrest, trial and conviction of Naser Abdo, the AWOL soldier whose planned terror attack was thwarted by an alert gun shop clerk and law enforcement officers. Christine graduated from Boston University with a degree in broadcast journalism. There she met her husband, Chris, whom she married two days before starting at Boston 25! Christine loves meeting people and telling their stories, but, when she's off the job, she enjoys hiking, camping, road tripping, reading, watching documentaries and snapping nature pictures. She also plays a mean game of Scrabble. Christine lives for her family and her dogs. Throw in a summer trip to the Cape, and she's in paradise!
