ATLANTA — It’s official: Mike Soroka is out for the rest of the season.
The Atlanta Braves young star pitcher suffered a leg injury against the New York Mets Monday night. Soroka landed awkwardly on his right leg trying to cover first base in the top of the third inning.
Manager Brian Snitker confirmed after the game that Soroka tore his Achilles.

It’s something that Braves and their fans do not want to see, especially in a shortened season. The Braves are already without Cole Hamels, who has not made his season debut yet as he recovers from an injury.
No roster moves have been announced yet with Soroka now out for the season. His teammates and other stars from around the league are sending their thoughts to the young ace.
