QB Jacob Eason reaffirms decision to play at Georgia

ATLANTA — The nation's No 1. high school quarterback has reaffirmed he'll play for the University of Georgia next season.

Jacob Eason announced Tuesday morning that he's sticking with his original committment, despite a coaching change at UGA.

Mark Richt was relieved of his coaching duties after Georgia's final regular season game and replaced by Kirby Smart.

Smart worked quickly to contact Eason and hired offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, known for his work developing quarterbacks.

Eason is a 5-star quarterback who plays for Lake Stevens High School in Washington.

He's ranked as the nation's top high school quarterback and the fourth best prospect in the class of 2016.
