Prime Time is ready to return to the college football spotlight.

Atlanta Falcons Hall of Famer cornerback Deion Sanders announced on his podcast Sunday night that he has accepted the head coach position at Jackson State.

School president Thomas K. Hudson and the athletic department made it official Monday.

“Isn’t it the time? Isn’t this the moment? Isn’t this what’s needed? To match what our president said it’s a match made in heaven," Sanders said on his “21st & Prime” podcast with Barstool Sports.

“Jackson State is excited to bring in Coach Sanders to lead our football program,” Hudson said. “He understands the legacy and history of football at JSU. I am confident Coach Sanders will solidify the brand of JSU football.”

He takes over a Tigers program that has produced fellow Hall of Famers such as Walter Payton, Lem Barney, Jackie Slater and Robert Brazile.

Sanders became known for his flashy style, gaining “Prime Time” and “Neon Deion” nicknames. The Falcons drafted Sanders out of Florida State with the No. 5 pick of the 1989 NFL Draft.

The star cornerback stayed with the Falcons through the 1993 season and played the rest of his car San Francisco, Dallas, Washington and Baltimore. Sanders won a Super Bowl with the 49ers and Cowboys.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame inducted Sanders in 2011 as an Atlanta Falcon. Of course, football wasn’t the only sport Sanders became known for.

He also had a career in Major League Baseball, including with the Atlanta Braves from 1991-1994.
