Woman Shot In Head; Gunman Sought

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Police are searching for the man accused of shooting a woman in the head in College Park Wednesday.

The suspect is identified as 21-year-old Austin Richard Nesbit, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. at the Southampton Apartments in the 3100 block of Godby Road.

Investigators said the victim, identified as 24-year-old Erica Willoughby, was visiting someone at the apartment complex when an argument broke out between the people who live there and Nesbit.

Police said Willoughby was shot in the head as she stood in the doorway. Police said Willoughby had nothing to do with the altercation and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. There were also children at the apartment when the gunman opened fire.

"It was traumatic … my sister … that's like my heart," said Brittany Tascine, the victim's sister.

Channel 2 Action News obtained cell phone video from police which shows a confrontation right before the shooting.

College Park Police Capt. David Block identified Nesbit from the video based on what witnesses described.

If anyone has knowledge of his whereabouts, please call the College Park Police Department.

Police consider him armed and dangerous.
