Victims ID'd In Triple Fatal Accident

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — Three people were killed Thursday when the driver of a pickup truck lost control, hitting a guardrail and sliding down an embankment, Gwinnett County police said.

The victims' have been identified as Terry Hammock, 36, of Grayson; William Lewis, 27, of Buford and Chad Litton, 31, of Lawrenceville, according to police.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 11: 45 p.m. near the intersection of Doc Hughes Road and Beyers Landing Drive in Buford.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that the 2007 Chevrolet truck was headed eastbound on Doc Hughes Road when the accident happened. Investigators said the pickup came to rest in a small stream at the bottom of an embankment. All three occupants of the pickup where pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the driver and one passenger were not wearing seatbelts.

Investigators said it appears that alcohol and speed may have played a role in the accident.
