Watch: Suspected drunken driver in Oregon hits 11 vehicles in parking lot

OREGON CITY, Ore. — A suspected drunken driver crashed into nearly a dozen vehicles and damaged two businesses in Oregon City on Thursday before he was arrested, according to police.

John Coady, 68, of Oregon City, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and reckless endangering, the Oregon City Police Department said in a news release.

Officers discovered 11 damaged vehicles and a witness who had filmed the driver, later identified as Coady, hitting several vehicles with the truck, according to the newspaper.

Police received a call about a white work truck that crashed into multiple vehicles in the parking lot of the Southridge Shopping Center at about 5:32 p.m. PDT, The Oregonian reported.

Oregon City police released a video of the incident on their Twitter and Facebook pages, KGW-TV reported. The video showed a truck hitting several vehicles before backing into several others, The Oregonian reported. According to the video, Coady then accelerated forward and hit at least two more vehicles, sending one airborne.

Coady was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment, the newspaper reported.

The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office will handle any criminal charges, KGW reported.
