According to a news release from Walmart, they will be hiring for three positions: seasonal store associates, full-time permanent truck drivers and customer care associates.

Walmart said they will also be offering additional hours and shifts for current associates who want them going into the holiday season.

According to CNBC, the seasonal hiring total this year is smaller than in the past because Walmart added 150,000 permanent and full-time associates and 20,000 supply chain workers.

CNBC reported that 50% of the seasonal employees at Walmart in the United States will transition into part-time or full-time roles after the holiday season and in the new year.

Walmart said that their average wage across the country is $17 an hour, which varies depending on role and market. For employees planning to stay at Walmart past the holiday season and build a career, Walmart offers additional benefits including medical coverage, no-cost confidential counseling, paid time off, and a 401k match and associated stock option for those who qualify.

“Our associates are the heart of the holidays and as we approach this season of gratitude, I’m thankful for every associate and their dedication to making this season one to remember,” Walmart said in the news release.
