The Transportation Security Administration is hiring 6,000 airport screening officers by this summer.
The officers screen thousands of travelers daily at airports across the country.
“TSOs are a critical first-line defense in securing our nation’s commercial air transportation system,” Melanie Harvey, executive assistant administrator with the agency, said in a statement.
The agency is hiring for positions at 430 airports nationwide in anticipation of increased travelers as more Americans are becoming vaccinated and returning to air travel.
