WCIA said charred peanut butter was seen scattered across the side of the road in photos from Feldkamps Towing. The peanut butter mess plus the heat led to a lengthy cleanup process.

Officials have not released any additional information including any injuries or what caused the truck fire, according to WCIA.

Feldkamps Towing on Facebook said they brought specified equipment to help remove the 44,000 pounds of peanut butter from the roadway and was able to get it done efficiently in the heat. Fire crews were able to get the truck fire out prior to their arrival.
