A pup kept breaking into a Dollar General in Duplin County to take a large purple stuffed unicorn. Animal control was called to take the pilfering pup away, but before the dog was taken to the pound, the officer purchased the beloved toy for the dog.

Some commenters on the post speculated that maybe the dog had an owner who had a similar stuffed animal.

An image of the dog laying its head on his new best friend was shared on the county’s animal services Facebook page.
