Tom Sizemore best known for his roles in “Saving Private Ryan” and “Black Hawk Down,” has died at the age of 61.
Sizemore’s manager, Charles Lago confirmed to Variety that Sizemore, 61, died in his sleep at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom,” Paul Sizemore said in the statement, according to CNN. “He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devastated he is gone and will miss him always.”
Sizemore’s brother and twin sons were notably by his side at the time, Lago said, according to NBC News.
Sizemore suffered a brain aneurysm on Feb. 18 at his Los Angeles home, according to The Associated Press. Doctors were unsuccessful in reviving him.
Doctors believed that Sizemore got the brain aneurysm following a stroke, Variety reported.
Lago in a previous statement earlier in the week said that the actor’s family were “deciding end-of-life matters,” according to People Magazine.

Sizemore was born Thomas Edward Sizemore Jr. on Nov. 29, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan. Sizemore attended Wayne State University and studied theater. According to NBC News, he got his first big Hollywood role in “Born on the Fourth of July,” in 1989 which was directed by Oliver Stone.
Sizemore is best known for his role as Sgt. Mike Horvath in “Saving Private Ryan” which came out in 1998, NBC News reported. He was also in “Black Hawk Down,” “Strange Days,” “Heat,” and multiple other films.
Sizemore made appearances more recently in “Cobra Kai” on Netflix and an independent supernatural film called “Impuratus,” CNN reported.
Over the last few years, Sizemore has been connected to drug abuse and domestic abuse allegations. In 2003, he was convicted of beating and threatening his former girlfriend, Heidi Fleiss, according to NBC News. He was sentenced to six months in jail and years later insisted he did not hit her.
In 2005, he was jailed for a probation violation after he allegedly failed drug tests. NBC News reported in 2007, Sizemore was arrested outside of a hotel in Bakersfield, California for methamphetamine possession.
Sizemore is survived by his twin sons, brother, his ex-wife Maeve Quinlan, and former girlfriend Janelle McIntire, according to NBC News. McIntire is the mother of their twins, Jagger and Jayden Sizemore.
