National Coffee Day 2021: Freebies from Starbucks, Dunkin’, Peet’s and more

If you could use a free cup of coffee, we hear you, and so will many of those who serve coffee on National Coffee Day.

According to the National Coffee Association, “more Americans (nearly 60%) choose coffee each day than any other beverage, including tap water, according to the Spring 2021 National Coffee Data Trends (NCDT) survey conducted by Dig Research.”

Below is a list of some of the deals available.

On Wednesday, restaurants and coffee houses will be offering deals and freebies to these folks.

(Note: Not every restaurant in a chain may be honoring the deals, so be sure to check with local restaurants to confirm which deals are available before you go.)

7-Eleven: If you are a member of the 7Rewards program, you get a free coffee with the purchase of a baked good on Wednesday.

Au Bon Pain: On Wednesday, Au Bon Pain is offering its “three-day pay-it forward celebration.” Hot and iced brewed drip coffees are $1.

Barnes & Noble: Buy an item from the bake case and get a free hot or iced tall coffee on Wednesday.

Biggby Coffee: You can get a free 20-ounce hot coffee Wednesday.

Circle K: Text FREE to 31310 for a free cup of coffee on Wednesday.

Dunkin’s: If you are a member of the DD Perks program, you will get a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on Wednesday.

Einstein Bros. Bagels: Order ahead in the app and you can get a free hot or iced coffee with your order.

Love’s Travel Stops: Get any size coffee or hot beverage for $1 on Wednesday with the Love’s Connect app. The dollar will go to Love’s annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign.

Panera: Parents and caregivers are the ones getting free coffee at Panera. When you place an order, tell the cashier that you are a parent or a caregiver and your coffee will be free.

Peet’s: Through Wednesday, Peet’s is offering 25% off coffee beans, K-Cup pods and espresso capsules in addition to a chance to win its first-ever Black Card worth $2,000. Two lucky customers will win the gift card. You can enter on Peet’s Instagram, Facebook or at Peets.com/nationalcoffeeday.

Pilot Flying J: If you have the chains rewards app, you get any size dispensed hot, iced, or cold brew Pilot coffee free on Wednesday.

PJ’s Coffee: Use the offer code COFFEE on the chain’s app and get a free 12-ounce hot coffee or cold brew Wednesday.

QuickChek: If you are a rewards member, you can get a free 20-ounce hot or iced coffee on Wednesday.

Scooter’s Coffee: Show a coupon from Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or just ask in the store and you can get a free small coffee on Wednesday.

Sheetz: If you are a rewards member, you can get one free coffee on Wednesday. No purchase is necessary.

Starbucks: Starbucks is celebrating its 50th anniversary Wednesday and is offering customers a free cup of coffee if they bring in a clean, empty, reusable cup, up to 20 ounces. You will get a free cup of Pike Place Roast brewed coffee at participating locations. You must go inside to get the coffee — drive-thru or advance ordering is not eligible for this offer.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Make a food or beverage purchase of at least $2 and you can get a free regular coffee Wednesday.

Tim Hortons: Through Oct. 26, you can get any size hot or iced coffee for 99 cents when ordering on the Tim Hortons app or online.

Wawa: Wawa is offering free coffee all day Wednesday, and free coffee to teachers and school administrators on Wednesday and Thursday. It is part of the chain’s “Cheers to Classroom” initiative.
