NASA is starting its next mission to Mars.
The Perseverance rover is beginning its journey to the red planet.
The launch is scheduled for 7:50 a.m. ET from Cape Canaveral, Florida. If it misses its scheduled time, the rover has the ability to launch within a two- hour window Thursday, or if needed, at various times over the next two weeks, CNN reported.
The rover will travel to Mars onboard an Atlas V rocket and will land at the Jezero Crater, NASA officials said. The crater is made up of dry river channels and a dried-up lake.
