St. Clair County Sheriff Billy J. Murray said in a news release that Daniel P. Watson, 28, was arrested in the deaths of Amber L. Manning, 37, and Timothy R. Davidson, 62.

Manning was found dead in the driveway of a house, Murray said. Davidson was found inside the house injured. He was flown to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

Murray said that Watson is being detained for two other murders in Birmingham Monday night.

Birmingham Police Department says Watson reportedly confessed to the murders to a Leeds Police Department officer around 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to WBMA. Watson provided locations where the bodies could be found.

“The Leeds police officer was able to provide information to our 911 communications division and give a potential area and a potential residence where the victims were located,” said Truman Fitzgerald, Assistant Public Information Officer for Birmingham Police Department, according to WBMA.

Officers made their way through a house in South East Lake in Birmingham and found a man and woman dead with gunshot wounds, according to Al.com. The identities of the victims have not been released.

Fitzgerald said that he believes that the murders in Birmingham happened first, and probably happened between 11 a.m. and 1 a.m. according to Al.com

Investigators are working to find a motive for the four murders, according to WBMA.

Watson has been charged with a count of capital murder and a count of murder with a gun in relation to the murders in St. Clair County, according to Murray.

Additional charges are expected in connection to the Birmingham murders, according to WBMA.
