BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A first-grader from Bentonville, Arkansas, has said that she’s had enough when it comes to female fashion.
Like many women of all ages, Kamryn Gardner is saying no to fake pockets found in girls’ and women’s clothing.
She’d had a lesson on persuasive letter writing so she put her education into practice, writing Old Navy telling them real pockets are needed in clothes, KFSM reported.
But Kamryn is doing something about it.
Bentonville School District shared the letter on Facebook last week.
The letter read:
“Dear Old Navy,
“I do not like that pockets of the girl’s jeans are fake. I want front pockets because I want to put my hands in them. I also would like to put things in them. Would you consider making jeans with front pockets that are not fake? Thank you for reading my request.
“Sincerely, Kamryn Gardner age 7.”
Kamryn got a response and a gift.
Old Navy wrote:
“Kamryn,
“Thank you so much for taking the time to write us about pockets on girl’s jeans. The Old Navy Kids Product Team appreciates your information and feedback for us as we develop new products.
“Thank you, Julie Wood and the Old Navy Kids Team.
“In appreciation, please accept some girl’s bottoms for you to enjoy.”
The school said the jeans they sent Kamryn had real pockets.
WRCB reported they also sent shorts, also with real pockets.
