Elmhurst police and fire departments were called to the scene of the crash early Monday afternoon, WFLD reported. Officers at the scene found a white 2012 BMW X6 M had crashed into a house.

“Just sitting in my office working, heard a large crash,” homeowner Eric Bowgren told WLS. “Corner of the house was blown out, so I think somebody lost control of the car and just drove through our house about 10 feet in front of me.”

Police told WGN that the 18-year-old driver, identified as Vladyslav Vityk, was going at an excessive speed when he lost control and crossed into a yard before hitting a home.

Vityk was not hurt. Police told WFLD that two passengers who had been inside the vehicle when it crashed were taken to a hospital.

Vityk was arrested and charged with reckless driving and speeding, according to WLS.
