KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. — An 8-year-old boy has been hospitalized after he got stuck in in a rope ladder at an indoor amusement park in King of Prussia, according to multiple reports.
An 8-year-old boy was climbing a rope ladder at Thrillz High Flying Adventure Park on 555 South Henderson Road around 1:40 p.m. when the ladder got entangled, Upper Merion Police told WCAU. The boy ended up hanging by his neck.
Two off-duty police officers and employees helped to get the boy get down from the rope and performed CPR on him until first responders arrived, according to WCAU. Authorities found the boy alert and able to speak with them, WTXF reported.
The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment. According to WTXF, he was with his family at Thrillz when the incident happened.
The owner of Thrillz, Lisa Cannon, released a statement obtained by WCAU thanking the off-duty officers for their assistance and the staff who followed protocol and were communicative with the amusement parks’ CPR and first aid certified team members.
“We are thankful to the KOP community for helping us respond in an effective and expeditious manner. We are told by police that the boy is okay and the injury is not serious. Our thoughts are with the family and we will be contacting them soon,” Cannon said in the statement, according to WCAU.
