In a court filing, the 64-year-old actor waived his right to make his first court appearance, which was scheduled to take place in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Baldwin has denied responsibility in the Oct. 21, 2021, incident on the set of “Rust,” when a gun he was rehearsing with discharged, killing Halyna Hutchins, The New York Times reported.

Baldwin remains free without having to post bail, according to Variety. He agreed to release conditions that would allow him to complete the film, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“Defendant is permitted to have contact with potential witnesses only in the capacity laid out herein: In connection with completing the ‘Rust’ movie (...) provided, however, that defendant is not permitted to discuss the accident at issue,” court documents state.

Other conditions include a ban on consuming alcohol and the possession of weapons, including firearms, according to The Associated Press.

Neither Baldwin nor his attorneys had any immediate comment, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Charges against Baldwin were downgraded on Tuesday from firearm enhancement, which carried a minimum of five years in prison if he was convicted. The involuntary charge he currently faces has a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison.

Baldwin and movie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were charged with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter. David Halls, the movie’s assistant director, signed a plea agreement for one count of negligent use of a deadly weapon and was given a suspended sentence and six months of probation.

Involuntary manslaughter is a charge brought when unintentional negligence leads to a person’s death, according to USA Today.

Gutierrez-Reed will make her first court appearance on Friday, Variety reported. She is accused of loading the gun and failing to make sure that all of the rounds were dummies. Her charges also were downgraded.
