IRVINE AYRSHIRE, Scotland — Harry Campbell marches to his own tune.

The 3-year-old boy likes hearts, pink and dolls, and his mom's all for it.

But his individuality was pulled into the spotlight when a classmate of Harry's was overheard making fun of Harry's girls socks.

The socks in question had hearts on them.

Harry's mother, Shona Campbell, did want any mom this day and age would do: She went to Facebook to spread awareness on gender stereotyping.

The post has since gone viral.

Campbell said that Harry loves his independence to pick out his own clothes. She adds that if he would like to wear a dress or "a big fluffy hat, he can."

She said some days he plays with boy toys like blocks and dinosaurs. The next he may wear a tiara and dress like a Disney princess, CBS News reported.
