ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — It’s every mother’s dream to see her daughter walk down the aisle, but for one Florida woman, that will not happen.
Leahre Michelle Footman Dacil, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, will soon go into hospice care and miss out on her daughter’s wedding. So Florida Hospital did something special for Dacil.
Her daughter, Ashleigh Hoheland, tried on several wedding dresses so her mother could witness the special occasion.
“I’m very humble to be her mom, and to see her in those dresses is remarkable,” Dacil said. “But the thing about dresses is, you can be beautiful on the outside, but you have to be beautiful on the inside, and she is beautiful on the inside.”
“I want her to experience this, I want her to have memories,” her daughter said.
Hoheland tried on the last dress. “Wow! That is gorgeous,” Dacil said.
“Even if it was just us in the hospital with one dress, that would have been plenty,” said Hoheland.
