Boys stop to honor American flag in heartwarming photo

ROSEBORO, N.C. — Two North Carolina boys' heartwarming display of patriotism is gaining national attention.

According to WFMY-TV, Roseboro Fire Department Chaplain Bobby Herring was raising the American flag over the fire station Friday when the boys stopped, placed their hands on their hearts and began to say the Pledge of Allegiance.

"It really touched my heart," said Herring, who snapped a photo of the moment and posted it on Facebook.

Commenters lauded the boys – and their parents.

The picture quickly went viral, with more than 4,100 shares by Tuesday morning.
