SAN DIEGO, Calif.,None — Police found the body of a recent graduate of Henry County's Ola High School in her California apartment on Tuesday and her new husband was charged with the slaying.
An autopsy ruled that Kalyn O'Barr-Poteat, 19, was strangled with a rope or cord.
Lance Cpl. Patrick Thomas Poteat was arrested and was scheduled to be charged with homicide in San Diego County, Ca. on Thursday. He is being held without bail.
Police found O'Barr-Poteat's body during a check on the apartment after Patrick Poteat called a friend and asked the friend to call 911, according to Lt. Kevin Rooney of the San Diego Police Department.
Family members said the couple married in November.

O'Barr-Poteat graduated from Ola High in 2008, a member of the school's first graduating class.
She was a founding member of the Ola women's soccer and cross-country teams and was captain of the soccer team.
O'Barr-Poteat worked as a stripper in Atlanta after graduation. She moved to San Diego about four months ago and worked as a nude dancer at Goldfingers Gentlemen's Club near the base where her husband was stationed.
More than 200 people attended a candlelight vigil for O'Barr-Poteat in McDonough Wednesday night.
