DAWSON COUNTY, Ga.,None — Officials with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a small plane landed in the middle of Georgia 400 on Sunday.
Authorities said a light plane landed on Georgia 400 in the grassy median near Dawson Forest Road just after 10:30 a.m. Officials said two people were on board.
Dawson County Sheriff's Office officials said there was no indication of injuries. No cars were hit during the landing.

A witness told Channel 2 Action News reporter Mike Petchenik that the plane was sputtering and then "fell out of the sky." The witness said the plane flew under a traffic light, skidded on Georgia 400 and then came to a stop in the median.

Kathleen Bergen of the FAA said the plane is a Lancair 320. Bergen said the pilot, who had taken off from Briscoe Field, reported a loss of power prior to the landing.
