EAST POINT, Ga.,None — Customers were ordered to the floor at a Sherwin-Williams store in East Point on Tuesday afternoon during an armed robbery, police said.
It happened in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue.
Investigators said the gunmen ordered customers to the floor, took money and then fled.
One perpetrator was arrested after a police chase; another perpetrator ran into an apartment complex, where police said he was not a resident. Residents were held back for more than an hour as police and SWAT team members negotiated with the perpetrator. Shots were fired by East Point police officers and SWAT team members kicked in a door, but investigators said no one was hit. He was arrested.
Police said they recovered one gun and were looking for a second weapon.
