ATLANTA — A huge windfall from a Georgia Lottery prize has captivated one lucky man in Sandersville. Christopher Williams played the instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic – Anniversary Edition, winning a $75,000 top prize.
The 20-year-old purchased his ticket at Discount Tobacco, 640 S. Wilkinson St. in Milledgeville.
He scratched it while in the store and became flush with excitement.
“I feel great! I’m excited, really,” Williams said.
The oldest of three, Williams intends to assist his siblings financially.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
