Runners Get Ready For Race At Health Expo

ATLANTA,None — Runners spent the afternoon Saturday getting geared up for Monday’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo.

"This is my first time actually coming to the expo, so I don't know what's going to be inside. So I'll be interested to see," Christina Campbell said, and found herself in good company.

Thousands of runners passed through the Expo Saturday that featured more than 100 different exhibits, gear, and apparel for the Atlanta Journal Constitution Peachtree Road Race.

Some were even lucky enough to meet a living legend, Jeff Galloway.

"I was the first winner of the Peachtree Road Race back in 1970 and I'm still running her," Galloway said. "It's a wonderful thing for our sport to have a continuing flow of ideas and new products."

"You come down here and its fun. It's neat stuff. You meet all kind of fun people," participant David Saef said.

Runners found information about Monday's race and several fitness experts on hand to answer questions.

"A lot of people, a lot of in shape people, giving me the motivation to run next year too," Alan Johnson said.

"I never would have expected this much stuff," Campbell said. "This is great. It's a lot going on. This is really nice."
