ATLANTA,None — Police arrested two women and one man early Tuesday morning in connection with a violent armed robbery in downtown Atlanta.
Tiffany Vega, 23; Chrystal Vega 22 and Malcolm McClarty, 19, were charged with the armed robbery of two men on Lena Street.
One of the victims told Channel 2 Action News reporter Jeff Dore that he and a cousin met two women Monday night. After stopping at the cousin's house, the women suggested the four take a walk, according to the victim.
Just a few blocks from the house two armed men approached the group and demanded money.
During the robbery one of the gunmen pistol-whipped one of the victims; taking his wallet, cell phone, shoes and pants.
When the other vicitm heard a robber say "kill him," he ran off.
A gunman fired five shots at the fleeing victim, but missed, the victim told Dore.
The armed men and the woman left in a black SUV.
Several hours later police spotted a similar vehicle in the area and tried to pull it over.
The driver sped off and crashed into a fence at the intersection of North Avenue and West Lake Avenue.
Police arrested Tiffany Vega, Chrystal Vega and McClarty, but another man escaped.
Police said the vehicle turned out to be stolen and they found three guns inside the vehicle.
