Rain Moving Out, Winds Remain

ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said rain was moving out of metro Atlanta on Sunday morning, but gusty winds would remain.

"The showers will come to an end this morning, skies will clear, but it's going to be windy. That's going to be the case all day long," said Nitz.

A flood watch remains in effect until 3 p.m. and a wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m.

"Tonight most areas will be under a frost advisory because temps will be in the low to mid-30s, but it won't stay that way for long," said Nitz.

People living along a section of Buford Highway were forced to leave their homes late Saturday night after a tree fell, which brought down power lines and caused a gas leak.

Gwinnett County fire officials said the tree fell in the courtyard of a duplex. No one was injured.

Crews reopened the road once gas and power crews gave the OK.
