LILBURN, Ga. — Four teenagers face charges after authorities said they tossed a bleach-filled balloon from a van, damaging a 14-year-old's eyes.
Lilburn police arrested van passenger Juan Flores, 17, of Norcross, on Thursday. Police said Flores sprayed the victim with a Super Soaker water gun filled with a bleach and water mix. Flores is the only person being charged as an adult. Officials said Flores admitted his role in the attack.
Police said the 16-year-old driver and the 16-year-old and 14-year-old passengers will also be charged.
All of the boys involved will be charged with aggravated battery, police said.
Police said the teens who attend Meadowcreek High School were responsible for tossing the balloon at middle schooler Miguel Mesa last week.
Mesa was seriously injured when he was hit in the face with the balloon as he walked home. His family said the boy underwent a laser procedure to remove blood in his eyes and is recovering.
