SNELLVILLE, Ga.,None — Police say they have caught one of three suspects in a string of violent robberies at cellphone stores.
Investigators said they arrested Charles Hamm, 24, in connection to the robberies.
Hamm is a a convicted felon.
Police said they still need the public's help in find the other men involved in the robberies.
Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh obtained the surveillance video Wednesday from one of the robberies that shows how the men pulled it off.
In the video, you can see a man walk into the Metro PCS store off Scenic Highway posing as a customer.
Minutes later, a second man appears outside speaking on his phone. He too enters the store. He continues talking on his phone until he turns, charges the counter and points a gun in the store manager's face.
Then, the video shows the two men hop the counter with one of the robbers pointing his gun to the back of the manager's head.
"We don't want the violence to escalate in another armed robbery to where somebody gets hurt or killed," detective James McDonald of the Snellville Police Department said.
McDonald said the surveillance video captured the robbery on Sept. 14 in Snellville, but McDonald said the same men may be responsible for two similar robberies in Gwinnett County and possibly two more in DeKalb County.
McDonald told Kavanaugh there's a third man who drove a getaway car, a white Monte Carlo. Surveillance cameras captured another man at gas station directly behind the store.
Investigators said a witness spotted the car and when police looked up the license plate number, they said it came back to member of Hamm's family.
"We want to get this person off the street," McDonald said.
Police said the men stole cash from the store and nothing else. Before they left, they said they forced the manager and clerk into a bathroom.
