Police Arrest 5 Accused Of Sex In Public Park

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga.,None — A Paulding County park earned a reputation as a hot spot for public sex until a recent crackdown, said a representative for the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they started watching Mount Tabor Park in April after receiving information about illegal activity in the area.

Paulding County deputies made five arrests to date, but said several others avoided arrests when they witnessed deputies taking suspects into custody at the park. Deputies said they had several other illicit encounters but those cases did not reach the level of an arrest.

"This type of stranger-on-stranger sexual contact will not be tolerated in our public parks where family and children gather," said Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge.

Deputies were expected to continue to monitor parks in Paulding County and continue undercover operations, according to the sheriff.
