DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Members of the Douglasville City Council voted 4-3 Monday against a proposed pit bull ban, after researching and hearing passionate pleas from both sides.

A series of pit bull attacks in metro Atlanta this summer prompted the city to consider an outright ban of the breed.
