Peachtree City hairstylist stacks prizes, delightful $1M windfall

ATLANTA — A Peachtree City woman has won a stack of pleasant prizes from the Georgia Lottery, and the latest is most impressive. Mary Ray, 70, has won a $1 million top prize playing the instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular.

BP Gas Station, 2597 Highway 54 in Peachtree City, sold the winning ticket.

“It’s just a wonderful thing,” said Ray, a hairstylist. “The experience has been amazing.”

Three days prior to winning the $1 million prize, Ray won $1,000 from the same instant game.

Since 2001, the lucky winner has claimed nearly $20,000 in Georgia Lottery winnings.

With her latest windfall, Ray had to look twice after scratching off the ticket.

“I thought, ‘Am I seeing things right,’ ” she questioned.

With two adult children and three grandchildren, Ray intends to purchase a new truck for her son. She also may take a vacation or two for herself.

The Georgia Lottery instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular is loaded with cash prizes, including top prizes of up to $1 million and $10 million.

Players can enter non-winning tickets into the $10 Million Cash Spectacular Extra Chance Promotion for a second chance to win $10 million. Visit www.galottery.com for more information.
