Next "Hunger Games" movie to film in Atlanta

The "Hunger Games" series' next movie, "Mockingjay," follows in the footsteps of "Catching Fire," and will start filming in Atlanta in coming months.

"Catching Fire," which comes out this fall, filmed at a number of Atlanta locations including the Goat Farm Arts Center, Swan House at the Atlanta History Center, the Marriott Marquis downtown and the Georgia World Congress Center, to name just a few. Stars including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland and Josh Hutcherson were spotted all over the place, too, visiting spots like Watershed and Atlantic Station.

The actress Rebel Wilson is among the stars reportedly in talks to sign on to the third "Hunger Games" film. I believe she was last in Atlanta for a small but hilariously scene-stealing role in the ensemble comedy "What to Expect When You're Expecting."

(Note the casting call does not specifically state that this is for "Mockingjay" but it's the same highly regarded casting agency that handled extras for "Catching Fire," never referring to its actual name at the time, either).

The first  "Mockingjay" casting call for extras reads:

The Examiner and Production Weekly  have reported that "Mockingjay" will film in Boston as well as Atlanta. The first "Hunger Games" movie filmed in North Carolina.
