COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Neighbors say Tuesday night, Leonardo Milton had beaten the pit bull mix in the face, hung it over the railing, threatening to drop it, and then slammed the dog against the wall.
The dog had snapped at his child, his son, and he just went haywire after that, according to witnesses.
"He’s a good dog. He's a really, really sweet dog. I hope someone will find him out there and help him,” his neighbor said.
It’s been more than a day since Zeus ran off into the woods. Witnesses say he was limping on what appeared to be a broken leg and his jaw appeared to be broken and hanging.
Milton remained jailed as the search for his dog continued. He is charged with four counts of the most serious felony animal cruelty.
“I am surprised that he would do that to the dog because that was uncalled for,” a neighbor said.
