DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Atlanta police confirmed that a skull found in northwest Atlanta in 2009 belonged to a 15-year-old DeKalb County boy who had been missing since 2001.
Alan Watson was on his way to the movies in 2001 when he disappeared, police said.
His skull was found in July 2009 on Abner Place. Police said the skull had a bullet hole in it.
DNA tests confirmed the skull belonged to Watson.
Officer Otis Redmond of the Atlanta Police Department told Channel 2 Action News that investigators would be in the area where the skull was found Thursday in an attempt to gather more information.
