ATLANTA — The clean up and repairs are expected to begin Tuesday for dozens of metro Atlanta homeowners. Flood waters from Peachtree Creek poured into several homes for the second time in nine months on Monday.
Flood damage from Monday's heavy rainfall will require homeowners once again to fix their water-damaged homes.
"It's a lot better than last time. That's all I can be thankful for I guess," said one homeowner.
The man remodeled his house after the flood in September 2009 and since then he's been trying to sell it. But water messed up the paint and drywall – another costly expense.
"We've gone through this now twice in nine months," he said.
A swollen Peachtree Creek took over some back yards and threatened several homes. A few blocks away, a homeowner elevated his home 12 feet high to escape the flood damage.
