MARTA Reconsidering Braves Shuttle Elimination

None — Atlanta's transit authority says it may restore shuttle bus service to Braves baseball games.

MARTA eliminated the service after last season along with other routes to deal with a financial shortfall.

Braves shuttle buses carry riders between the Five Points rail station and Turner Field before and after games.

While the bus service has been popular, MARTA is not allowed to charge passengers an extra fee for the trip, so it's operated at a loss. But many people ride the subway line to Five Points and transfer there to the shuttle.

Public hearings on restoring MARTA service cuts will be held on March 21 and March 24.
