Man Hit By MARTA Train Killed

ATLANTA — A MARTA train station was shut down after a man was hit by a train on Friday morning, police said.

A man was hit by a train on the northbound tracks at the Lindbergh station just before 5 a.m., Atlanta police said. The man was killed in the accident, MARTA spokeswoman Cara Hodgson said.

Channel 2's Darryn Moore was at the station, where a train was stopped on the northbound side. MARTA used buses to reroute passengers. Southbound passengers were being taken to the Arts Center Station. Northbound passengers were rerouted to the North line in Buckhead and the Northeast line at the Lennox station.

The incident caused up to 10-minute rail delays at other stations.

Just before 9 a.m., Hodgson said the Lindbergh station reopened service for all tracks.
