The Clayton County Police Department has reunited a child with his mother after they located the boy around approximately 4:19 a.m. Thursday.
He was kept safe and in the care of the Clayton County Police Department.

Police say they believe he may be either four or five years old. Officers reported that the child has repeatedly asked for his mother.
Police immediately canvassed the surrounding area and conducted a door-to-door search in an effort to locate the child’s family.
“The Clayton County Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who shared information and assisted in bringing this incident to a successful resolution,” the police department wrote in a statement. “The community’s cooperation was instrumental in helping reunite the child with his family.”
