ROSWELL, Ga — Roswell police are investigating the death of a woman found wrapped in a sheet in a Roswell hotel breezeway.
Police say they have identified the woman in her 50s, but they are contacting family members before releasing her name.
Neighbors watched Thursday as police collected evidence from the Atlanta Hotel.
“She didn’t deserve that. Nobody deserves to lose their life over a bunch of nothing,” said one neighbor.
Early Thursday morning, police said a neighbor stumbled across the body.
“Female, wrapped in a white bed sheet. Had blood stains on it,” said Roswell Police Officer Lisa Holland.
Police collected evidence from several locations on the property, including a second floor hotel room.
“There was evidence in that room that does correlate with her being there,” said Holland.
Detectives also found evidence in a nearby dumpster.
“We did take the dumpster away. We’re taking it to the station to go through,” said Holland.
One neighbor said she knew the victim.
“She was such a good person. Someone’s child, somebody’s sister, somebody’s aunt, you know? She’s still a human being,” said the neighbor.
Another neighbor said he hopes police find the person responsible.
“Hopefully whoever did it, they get caught and brought to justice,” said Thomas Merritt.
