Griffin High School student Destiny Wellmaker attended prom with Hastings and says she planned to go with him again next year. She says there's no way anyone would purposely shoot and kill Hastings.
"I'm glad I got a chance to take him to his only prom, but it just hurts that he's gone," Wellmaker said.
Wellmaker says she was supposed to be at the graduation party where Hastings and three other teens were shot.
Several witnesses who spoke with Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes asked not to be identified because they weren't sure if the shooting was gang related.
They said the party was over when they noticed a girl arguing with a male parked in a car.
"That's when everybody ran over there and a large crowd had formed," one witness said.
A vigil is being held for Hastings Monday evening.
Investigators said they expect more arrests to be coming.
