DEKALB COUNTY, Ga.,None — Officials said the windy weather early Thursday morning nearly killed a man.
Police said a tree came crashing down onto a man’s truck while he was sitting inside it.
Two trees fell on Pin Oak Circle and Little John Way in DeKalb County early Thursday morning.
DeKalb County Fire Department officials said a man was sitting in his truck when a strong gust of wind caused a poplar tree to fall onto the hood of his pickup truck.
“He said he was sitting in his pickup truck, and all of a sudden there was a tree across his hood,” said Capt. Jason Early of the DeKalb County Fire Department.
The tree also crushed another car in the driveway of the home. No one was inside that car.
The man in the truck is expected to be OK.
The fallen tree also brought down power lines in the area. Fire officials said 10 homes were without power, but it should be restored shortly.
