ATLANTA — Rain and scattered storms are moving across metro Atlanta Tuesday evening and more is expected through the holiday weekend.

Chief Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Glenn Burns said that heavy downpours with wind, lightning and thunder are possible.
Looking ahead, Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said it's looking wet for Memorial Day weekend.

Showers and storms will continue through this evening, Burns said.
"This area of low pressure currently has a 40 percent chance of tropical development," Nitz said.
