GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia voters who live in the 13th Congressional District will head to the polls on Tuesday for a special election runoff.
Rep. David Scott, who represented the district for more than two decades, died in April. Voters will decide between former Gwinnett County School Board Chair Everton Blair and Marcye Scott, daughter of the late congressman, to serve the rest of his term.

David Scott was running for re-election at the time of his death. The winner of Tuesday’s special election runoff will only serve the rest of his current term. Neither candidate is running for the seat in November’s general election.
Georgia’s 13th Congressional District includes parts of Clayton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton and Rockdale counties.
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Any voter who is registered in the 13th Congressional District may participate in the special runoff. You must go to your assigned polling precinct.
