GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police have released video showing officers rescue a young child after a chase involving a man accused of kidnapping the child and threatening to kill both of them.

The chase happened on Jan. 31 after officers responded to a domestic dispute involving Saul Gutierrez.
According to police, Gutierrez took a young child and threatened to kill himself and the child before leaving the area in a vehicle.
Responding officers immediately broadcast the information to surrounding precincts. Using Flock camera technology, officers quickly located the SUV and began following it.
Police said Gutierrez refused to stop when officers tried to pull him over.
Because a young child was inside the SUV, officers first tried a rolling roadblock.

Authorities said it soon became clear Gutierrez was determined to evade police and continued trying to break through the roadblock.
When officers determined it was safe to do so, they performed a PIT maneuver, forcing the SUV to stop and bringing the chase to an end.
Video released by the department shows officers taking Gutierrez into custody before rushing to check on the child.
Police said the child was unharmed.
“Thankfully, the child was unharmed and was very excited to get back to mommy,” the department said.
Gutierrez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, interference with government property, second-degree cruelty to children, third-degree cruelty to children, simple battery under the Family Violence Act, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, transporting a child without a proper restraint system and driving without a valid license.
